I grew up in Ignacio recreational sports, playing everything from Basketball and Baseball to archery and Frisbee. Through the recreation program as a youth I was part of the Colorado team that went to NAIG in 1997. I grew up with a passion for baseball that I’m passing on to my son and step son….I take that same energy and put it into ensuring we have a great baseball field here at SunUte for both kids and adults interested in playing. I love softball and have played the game for over 20 years. I want to see more softball played here and look for ways that I can get people to come out and enjoy the game, either for the first time or the 100th time, which I love so much. I was also certified in 2013 for indoor and outdoor Archery. I run Archery Club for the kids; the age range for archery club goes from 6 and up. One of my goals working for the recreation is to get kids and adults into sports and just stay active.
I grew up in Arizona and have been around recreation and fitness my entire life. I received my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Fort Lewis College and since receiving my degree I have worked as a Physical Therapist Technician, a Sports Performance Coach and as a Fitness Specialist. My favorite sport is basketball, I have been playing since I was about 5 years old but I also enjoy volleyball, softball, biking, hiking, running and weight lifting.
I love my job and love motivating people to stay active and healthy. I am thrilled to work for SunUte Community Center and I look forward to continuing a fun filled recreation program for the community!!! “Sports for Life”
