In 2004, the Southern Ute Tribal Planner began documenting information for Tribal Council to determine the need for a Multi-Purpose Building and Chapel. Information such as interview comments, use for the proposed facility, facilities comparison, site characteristics, and recommendations to develop a design committee was gathered. From the information collected between 2002 to 2007 the Tribal Council acted to appoint a design committee to begin the design process in February 2007. September 2007 Tribal Council approved the schematic design. The Multi Purpose Facility and Chapel were opened in December of 2010. It is with great pride and recognition of all the individuals who made this a reality for the Tribal Membership to enjoy this facility, today and for many years to come.
